On March 10, 2015, the Bandung Mayor and Marzuki Darusman, the founder of the Association For International Human Rights Reporting Standards (FIHRRST), signed a Memorandum of Understanding in regard to developing Bandung as a human rights city. This initiative will commence with the development of the Bandung Declaration of a Human Rights City through a participatory process that includes focus group discussions and gathering citizen’s feedback through websites, sms and other ICT instruments. The Declaration will significantly increase the awareness of Bandung citizens of their rights and obligations, as well as the City’s commitment to implement and ensure that its citizens’ rights are promoted, protected and fulfilled. The launch of the Declaration will take place during the 60th commemorative anniversary of Asian-African Conference in April 2015 in Bandung.
