Marseli holds a Master's Degree from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), majoring in Management and Business, and she also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Trilogi University. 

Marseli has 10 years professional experience including seven years in human rights. She conducted human rights assessments in an extractive industry with other FIHRRST human rights experts. She was the team leader for other business and humamn rights projects, including a study on Respect for Human Rights in 100 Indonesian Public Companies, and a study on Sustainability Reporting of public companies in Indonesia. She was also a team member of FIHRRST's 2020 study of the sustainability reports of all publicly listed companies in Indonesia.
