As a human rights specialist, Aldila is
trusted to lead the FIHRRST’s research project. He is currently working as a
researcher on ranking the human rights performance of 100 top public companies
in Indonesia and the co-project manager in fighting against Illegal,
unreported, and unregulated fishing in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Philippines.
Beside those two major projects, Aldila also passionately analyzes the human
rights issues in Indonesian politics, palm oil industry, and religious
tolerance.
Aldila has proven his research skills,
shown by his published articles and achievements in debate competitions. The
Jakarta Post has published his opinions about post-disaster in Palu and
Indonesian presidential election, examined from the perspective of human
rights. In 2017, the Government of Indonesia chose him, through national
competition, as the Indonesian official participant for the World Universities
Debating Championship in The Hague, Netherland. In Asia, he took the title as
the EFL Champion as well as Grand Final Best Speaker at the United Asian
Debating Championship in 2015.
Prior
to joining FIHRRST, Aldila was an Indonesian youth representative at
Asia-Pacific Urban Youth Assembly. It was a forum held by United Nations Human
Settlements Programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and
Housing Republic of Indonesia in 2015 and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of
Malaysia in 2017. He worked with over 300 young people from all over
Asia-Pacific to make cities and human settlements more equitable, inclusive,
safe, resilient, and sustainable.
