Foundation for International Human Rights Reporting Standards (FIHRRST) is a foundation dedicated to the protection and fulfillment of human rights, founded by international human rights luminaries (www.fihrrst.org). Our areas of work are focused on Business and Human Rights, Accountable Human Rights Cities and Religious Beliefs and Other Social Issues.

FIHRRST is seeking a Research and Training Coordinator and a Senior Program Officer for Business and Human Rights.


1.   Position: Research and Training Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

The role will lead responsibility for:

  • Planning and coordinating the initiation of research study protocol, and the establishment of operating policies and procedures;
  • Promoting research capacity building among community-based organizations and student groups;
  • Monitoring the progress of research activities;
  • Designing and implementing programs and materials in accordance to our work;
  • Making recommendations on content and/or the direction of the overall program;
  • Developing materials and tools necessary to appropriately train individuals (students, employees, etc.) in thematic issues (but not limited to) the scope of our work, e.g. business and human rights training;
  • Conducting training and organize implementation of the curriculum, which includes performing evaluation of training and the program.

Educational and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in law (in international law or human rights is strongly preferred),  international relations or development related subject, e.g. development studies, political science and public policy;
  • Extensive professional work experience (min. 7 years) in civil society organization in the human rights field; and
  • Experience in developing and conducting training programs is strongly preferred.

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in Indonesian and English, especially strong English writing, reading and presentation skills;
  • Extensive knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research;
  • Strong leadership and management skills;
  • Experience working with a wide and diverse network of groups and individuals, with the ability to effectively interact with people in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment;
  • Competent in personal organization and priority setting, with the ability to work effectively under the pressure of time and manage multiple priorities; and
  • Demonstrates initiative, capable of working in a team as well as independently.


 

2.   Position: Senior Program Officer for Business and Human Rights.

Job Responsibilities

  • Developing methods and tools to promote the business and human rights standards developed by FIHRRST;
  • Assisting companies to implement respect for human rights within their operations;
  • Delivering business and human rights training for companies and government officials;
  • Conducting research on business and human rights related issues.

Educational and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Hold Bachelor, preferably Master Degree in Business, Social, Health and Safety, Environmental, Industrial Engineering or related field;
  • Professional work experience of at least 7 years;
  • Extensive knowledge of program design, development and evaluation;
  • Knowledge in Quality Management, Environmental, Health and Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 26000);
  • Knowledge on business and human rights is strongly preferred.

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in Indonesian and English;
